Wisheliver - Soundtrack

WISHELIVER. This fake game is about a little star that delivers wishes to people all around the world, when it needs, the star is there to give your beautiful wish!

Wisheliver is a 2D (very) small Adventure/Top-Down/Shooter game, and the shooter part is where people start to make wishes, and you - the player - have to shoot a wish in the correct place!

The Soundtrack is 8-bit, made in FL Studio and all the instruments used are part of the Cave Story Soundfont, or to be more specific, the pack of 100 WAV sounds that Pixel used in Cave Story to make the music.

All the tracks and cover art done by myself :)

Tracks

1. Wish Delivery - Main theme. It can be played in the main manu or on the 1st phase, to start well and know what the game is about, you delivering wishes to everyone!
2. Something Is Wrong - The 2nd phase theme (maybe). At this point you notice that wishes that you delivered dissapeared, and things start to get more harder to do (like delivering wishes), and everything is weird right now.
3. (I Am Not) Ready - Boss battle theme. You discover that a terrible monster is stealing all the wishes, and they are big, and you're really small, so this theme fits in the moment - more like "Oh my, this monster is so big, I have to defeat him and continue delivering wishes to everyone! But I'm too scared, I don't know what to do!"
4. Everyone Can Wish - Final theme. Right in the end of the battle you see that everyone's wishes that you delivered now is on your side and ready to fight the monster. You are absolutely overpowered with this and the monster is defeated! This theme is sort of epilogue, or a credits scene, just to mention that everything is fine and you will deliver wishes for everyone for a very long time!

Inspirations

• Cave Story Soundtrack by Pixel - Not only I used the sounds/Soundfont from it, I also took inspirations from the way music is made in this game.
• Undertale Soundtrack by Toby Fox - The way Toby used leitmotifs in his game was pivotal for me to use leitmotifs in my soundtrack.
• Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys - This beautiful album inspired me to do most of the melodies and chords for the rythm. The theme for this Jam is "Wish Upon A Star", and people instantly remember the Pinocchio song - and the song is very calm and melancholic - as melancholic as Pet Sounds! So this was my main inspiration to give a little bit of melancholy for my soundtrack.
• Clube da Esquina by Milton Nascimento & Lô Borges - This brazilian album gave me more "spice" to put in the songs, the charming and simple way this album is made - but with a great production value - made me think about how much simplicity do I want for this.
